Why Haven’t These 22 Mass Shootings in 2023 Made the News?

While media attention has been on the “knife crime” miscreant in Utah or the circus clowns of D.C., “gun lovers” have been burning up the streets of 15 states and our capital.

Let’s look at the 2023 bumper crop of mass shootings.

I’m sticking with the traditional definition. A mass shooting is four or more people being shot, not the shooter. This means that if a clown shoots three people at Denny’s and then takes a nap, watches “Forensic Files,” before perforating four more at a Piggly Wiggly it is not a mass killing. Also, I did not include the mass shootings that occurred on New Year’s Eve prior to midnight. Those shootings belong in 2022.

It’s a blast to be part of the 2023 mass shooting festival of lead!

A Glance at Shootings

31 people were killed and 89 others were injured in the 22 mass shootings.
On January 1, four young adults were killed in a mass shooting at a Allentown youth recreation center.

Florida had three mass shootings, with two taking place in Miami Gardens.
The shooting that left the most people injured, with no deaths, was January 5, in Miami Gardens, FL. There were 10 victims who were making a video for French Montana. Nine people were injured, including a 2-year-old child. None were hurt.

Two black men shot and killed nine people in Huntsville, AL on January 7. Over 200 shell casings were recovered by police from two 9mm handguns as well as an AK-47.

There were two mass shootings/murder-suicides. On January 4, a white man shot seven members of his family and then killed himself in Cedar City, UT.

On January 7, a black man killed his wife, three children and then himself in High Point. Two family members escaped. This is the second of two mass shootings/murder-suicides in 2023.

A mass shooting occurred in Dumfries in Virginia. It took place in the smallest of towns. Fourteen teens were wounded and a three-year old girl was killed by a black man.

In 2022, there were 648 mass shootings.

The majority of shootings occurred in the blue, big cities of Minneapolis, San Francisco and Philly, Chicago. Washington D.C., Baltimore and New Orleans. Are the shooters using legal weapons? It is highly unlikely.

It is difficult to determine if the murder-suicide gunmen purchased their guns legally. The Hunstville shooting and the shooting at the video of the rapper all seem to share the same common thread we’ve seen over the years: illegally bought guns in low-income, Democrat run towns.

Chicago saw 3,602 Chicagoans get perforated 2022. It’s 21% less than 2021, local politicians are beaming. They may have overlooked the fact that far fewer thugs are still alive to be shot, which could explain the 21% drop in local politicians’ smiles.

Liberals love to claim that “most shootings occur in red states”, but neglect to mention that they are mostly in blue, liberal cities in those states.

These stats are positive in that there was no mass shooting on January 2, or 10, (success!). This could be more due to cold weather keeping thugs as snug as bugs indoors.

Democrats could prevent mass shootings by locking up career thugs today, but that is unlikely to happen.

None of these 22 shootings made it into the mainstream news. And you know why. The Democrats cannot use any of them as a way to take your guns away. That has been their goal since the beginning.
