Jen O’Malley Dillon, the campaign manager for Kamala Harris, sent a memo to her staff informing them that the Vice President had spoken with Donald Trump and accepted the results of the election. He also laid out his plans for the future.
The Washington Post reporter Tyler Pager obtained a memo that was filled with the emotion of someone who had just lost a close friend.
Dillon remembered the content of the conversation between Harris, Trump, and the other party. They discussed the importance of their opponent being a president “for all Americans” and ensuring that there would be a smooth transfer of power.
She complained that the entire operation was behind the eight-ball from the start, being forced to throw together a campaign in essentially 90 days (they had the infrastructure of Biden’s campaign and a four-year track record to work with).
She lamented, “You faced unprecedented headwinds and barriers that were largely outside of our control.”
The eulogy or moment of remembering began.
She wrote, “I’ll end with this.” “Losing can be unbearably painful. It’s hard. It will take a lot of time to process this.”
Dillon said, “But now is the time to protect America from the effects of a Trump Presidency.”

Kamala Harris called finally to concede the race. Donald Trump was elected President. The conversation was a repeat of what Dillon had revealed in her email to campaign staff.
Harris has remained hidden from the public so far. After fleeing last night, she is expected to deliver remarks to her supporters at Howard University. The speech will be at 4 PM Eastern Time.
Dillon informed Harris supporters that Harris had tucked in for the evening and the fight would continue tomorrow, even though the race was called relatively early for Trump.

Dillon, at the time, said without any evidence: “We feel good about our observations.”
This is what we were built for. Let’s finish what’s in front of us, get some rest, and prepare to close strong tomorrow.
Tomorrow arrived and quickly became ‘unfathomable suffering’.

The Trump campaign has just released a statement about the phone conversation between Trump and Harris.
Steven Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, stated that “President Trump recognized Vice President Harris’s strength, professionalism, and tenacity during the campaign and both leaders agreed about the importance of uniting the country.”
Fox News reports that Biden called Trump as well to congratulate him on his election.
