Science v. Ideology: 36 Climate Models Overestimated Warming in U.S. Corn Belt

The facts don’t give a damn about your fear mongering. After 50+ years and failed climate predictions it was a foregone conclusion that 36 climate models had overestimated the warming of America’s Cornbelt — by a great deal.
Steve Milloy, longtime climate truth-teller, tweeted evidence from Dr. Roy Spencer Ph.D. a climatologist and author. He is also a former NASA scientist. Spencer and Milloy shared the same chart that showed how inaccurate climate models are compared with actual measured temperatures from 1973 to 2012.

This information was published near the five-year anniversary on June 21, 2015 of Greta Thunberg tweeting that “climate changes will wipe out humanity” if fossil fuels are not stopped within five years. Businesses and governments continue to make drastic changes in response to climate alarmist talking point despite a half century of failed predictions. When will we accept reality?

Dr. Spencer wrote the following:

Climate models used by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are known to overestimate temperature increases compared with observations. The region (global or U.S.? U.S.? Temperature metric (surface) deep ocean? Lower atmosphere? Time period (last 150? Depending on the time period (last 150 years? The average model can overestimate warming by a large or small amount.

It is most dramatic in the U.S. Corn Belt, especially during the growing seasons (June-August).

This plot compares the area-averaged temperatures for the 12-state Corn Belt from 1973-2022 as observed by the official NOAA homogenized temperature surface product (blue bars) versus 36 CMIP6 models using the same metric (red bars; SSP245 emission scenario, output shown here).

In less technical language, climate doomsayers were wrong. Again. They are the same as always.

The alarmism about climate change has been used by governments as a way to gain more power and control. This is despite the fact that their demands have hurt the economy and caused power grid problems (as seen in Texas and California) and are likely to lead to people becoming poorer. Control is the main goal, not science. Science is just a propaganda tool used to silence any debate.

Dr. Spencer explains why his information is important. He warned that “this kind of sanity-check is needed” because the efforts to change U.S. Energy Policy are based on climate model predictions which are often out of line with historical observations. Environmentalists tend to focus on models, which can reveal dramatic changes, rather than actual observations.

How will the leftists, globalists and their climate models create a utopia in which you “own nothing and have no privacy” and can enjoy it?
