LeBron James Finds a New Way to Criticize the United States, While Remaining Quiet About China

LeBron has again criticized the United States of America. Brittney Griner, a WNBA player was taken into custody in Russia after finding vape cartridges containing cannabis oil inside her luggage.

James said that if he were in Griner’s shoes, he would question returning to America.

“Now, how can she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?’”

James appears to doubt that the United States is doing enough to allow Griner to return home. Griner was convicted of violating Russian law.

It’s worth noting that Vice President Harris, President Biden, and Charelle Griner spoke with Griner’s spouse. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken also spoke with Griner’s family.

Griner pleaded guilty to drug possession in Russia. It is unclear if Griner will remain in Russia to complete her sentence or if she can be safely returned home by the Biden administration. If found guilty she can face up to 10 years in prison.

In 2017, there was a similar situation in China, as three UCLA athletes were caught shoplifting. LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley, and Jalen Hill had reportedly stolen sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store. Former President Donald Trump worked with the President of China, Xi Jinping, to have the UCLA athletes return to the United States.

We will see if the Biden administration is able to negotiate with Putin and Russian officials to bring Griner back to America.

LeBron found a way to criticize America during this time. He was able to make millions in America playing basketball and millions on television advertising. Yet, we hear only negative comments about America from LeBron.

LeBron will criticize the country that allows him to do so, not totalitarian countries like China. Not the riots and the death of Ethan Liming (17 years old) which occurred at LeBron’s “I Promise School”, Akron, Ohio. There is no comment about China or the forced labor in Xinjiang.

James is too selective about what he should talk about and what he should keep quiet about. He will be a hypocrite if he does not. America allows him the freedom to talk about whatever topics interest him. This is different from other countries that prohibit criticism of their government.

James’s claim that he would question Griner if Griner was his place is an insult to the veterans and heroes who have died on the battlefield. This is also a joke on those serving in the military who have allowed James to have such success and have given him the opportunity to express himself in China and Russia. LeBron James would be prohibited from criticizing and speaking his mind.
