Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs and the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors members as well as Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake were summoned by the judge who heard Lake’s electoral complaint.
“The Court reviewed Plaintiffs’ Verified Statement of Election Contest, filed December 9, 2022. Judge Peter Thompson stated in his order that this case is an election challenge and the return hearing would be held on an accelerated schedule.
An earlier this month, Obama-appointed U.S. district Judge John Tuchi sanctioned Lake’s lawyers for bringing what he called a frivolous, political lawsuit. Lake responded with a sharp rebuke. Judge Thomspon seems to be taking the matter seriously with this new order. Former Gov. Thompson appointed Thompson to the bench in September 2010. Jan Brewer.
For how badly they were run, the previous elections in Maricopa County (Ariz.) have been controversial. A forensic audit of last year’s presidential election revealed thousands of discrepancies. Many Republicans expected to vote for Kari lake on Election Day. Technical problems prevented thousands from voting in districts where the majority of Republicans were expected.
Lake is suing whistleblowers for their complaints regarding the 2022 election.
Lake said that three whistleblowers from Maricopa County have contacted him to tell him the system was seriously flawed. They were sending out thousands of signatures claiming they were scribbles that were not matched. The ballots were being thrown out completely and then looped back into system to be counted as if everything was fine.
Lake noted that 25,000 additional ballots and early voting votes were found two days after Election Day.
She observed that they “just showed up.” It shows that the entire system is in serious trouble.
Lake stated that “we believe that up to 1355,000 ballots were pushed though that shouldn’t have been.” We are asking the judge to allow us to look at all the envelopes and compare signatures so we can determine how many fraudulent ballots were sent that way.
The hearing will begin at 2 pm. ET today.
