White House coronavirus task force member and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci just announced that most Americans won’t be able to celebrate the end of the COVID-19 pandemic until sometime after Christmas and the New Year. He said that the country is in too vulnerable of a position headed into the winter months and that people should just skip their celebrations altogether.
“If the surge takes a turn of continuing to go up and you have the sustained greater than 100,000 infections a day and 1,300 deaths per day and the count keeps going up and up … I don’t see it being any different during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays than during Thanksgiving,” said Dr. Fauci.
The drug company Pfizer just submitted an emergency approval application to the Food and Drug Administration after seeing 95% effectiveness in clinical trials for a COVID-19 vaccine. The review meeting was scheduled for Dec. 10, delaying millions of doses from being distributed to sick Americans. Initial shipments will be going to elderly people and healthcare workers first. President Trump said that they expect to have enough vaccines for every American by April.
“For my own family, I’m saying we had a really great Thanksgiving and Christmas last year. We’re looking forward to a really great Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2021. Let’s now make the best of the situation and show our love and affection for people by keeping them safe,” Dr. Fauci said.
It’s hard for people to take advice from Dr. Fauci when he has been wrong on almost everything since the beginning of the pandemic. This is the same medical expert who fought against the President’s decision to post the travel ban that saved hundreds of thousands of American lives and spent months flip-flopping on the use of masks.
Dr. Fauci also argued that there was only “anecdotal evidence” in support of hydroxychloroquine to fight the virus, despite several scientific studies and a Detroit hospital study showing a 50% reduction in mortality rate when the medicine was used in early treatment. At one point, Fox News Host Tucker Carlson even said that Fauci’s stay-at-home orders and recommendations would amount to ‘national suicide’
The only way to listen to Dr. Fauci’s advice is with skepticism and caution. Liberals want people to sit trapped and afraid in their homes collecting government checks, while they are off still throwing luxurious dinner parties, going boating, and traveling.
Christmas isn’t canceled for Democrats this year, so why should it be canceled for everyone else?
