Dr. Birx Says Everyone Who Celebrated Thanksgiving Has COVID-19

White House coronavirus response coordinator Deborah Birx just announced that we are entering a “post-Thanksgiving surge” as cases increase going into the winter months. Reporters warned that coronavirus numbers are likely to be ‘erratic” over the next few weeks due to shorter testing site hours and the fact that fewer people get tested during the holidays. Either way, Democrats will paint a horrifying tale of post-Thanksgiving infection rates just so they can cancel Christmas too.

“We know people may have made mistakes over the Thanksgiving time period. If you’re young and you gathered, you need to be tested about five to 10 days later. But you need to assume that you’re infected and not go near your grandparents and aunts and others without a mask,” Dr. Birx said.

Dr. Birx suggested wearing masks indoors during holiday gatherings, even though there is still no scientific evidence to back up that mask-wearing is linked to lower infection rates. She explained that we entered this post-Thanksgiving surge with “three, four, and 10 times” as many diseases as we had going into the Memorial Day weekend.

Dr. Birx pointed the finger at Governors who didn’t impose harsh lockdowns.

“So if your governor or your mayor isn’t doing the policies that we know are critical — masking, physical distancing, avoiding bars, avoiding crowded indoor areas — if those restrictions don’t exist in your state, you need to take it upon yourself to be restricted. You need to not go to these places. You need to protect your family now,” Dr. Birx said.

These Governors have protected and preserved the freedom to let people make their own decisions. They have put the trust in their people to make the right decisions, rather than implement draconian lockdown measures and crush the small business community entirely.

Dr. Birx is not the only “medical expert” trying to cancel the holidays. Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci also said if we continue to see a COVID-19 surge, then there’s no bother in holding Christmas celebrations this year. It’s one thing for the government to recommend CDC guidelines, but another thing entirely when they start trying to tell you to keep your Christmas decorations in the closet.

The government’s medical experts need to stop thinking they can tell people what to do during the holidays. Vaccines are on the way and businesses are picking themselves back up. The left will stop at nothing until each and every American is sitting at home in fear of COVID-19 and collecting government checks.
