Remember how Democrats in 2018 attacked then-President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy approximately 800 National Guard troops on the Southern Border? As I recall, Trump was ridiculously accused of “militarizing the border”. Guess what?
Fox News reported on Tuesday that the Biden Administration has approved the sending of 1,500 active-duty troops to the border over the next few days. Tile 42 expires on May 11, so the Biden Administration is now ready to send these troops. The Defense Department will make the announcement today at 2:00 ET. Fox reported that the administration was concerned about tens of thousands of illegal immigrants flooding the border.
Who would have thought? The administration continues to laughably claim that the border is secure, led by Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas.
If there’s anyone in the federal government more worthy of being charged with treason — and convicted — than this liar, I’m unaware of who it is. Sure, Biden himself, but presidents and former presidents are never charged with crimes.
According to Fox, these troops will come from different active-duty units, and they’ll serve in “mostly administrative and transport roles” to free up Border Patrol and law enforcement, according to two senior U.S. government officials who are familiar with the discussions. Hmmm.
Fox reported that the deployment of troops would be similar in nature to those ordered by Trump for the border. The troops will be armed only for self-defense and not to assist in law enforcement. Since when are people in administrative positions armed to defend themselves?
Title 42, for those who need a reminder, was implemented by the Trump Administration at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 in order to limit the spreading of the virus among illegal aliens coming from countries that have high rates of communicable diseases. Biden has worked tirelessly since then to overturn Trump’s order. Try to contain your surprise and shock.
It is important to note that this is an evolving story, and it will be updated as keyboard jockeys from across the plains try to beat the story to smithereens. But one thing is clear: if the Southern Border was truly “secure” under “operational controls,” why would Biden have sent 1,500 active-duty troops to the Rio Grande River?
