Of course… President Donald Trump was right about the fatality rate for coronavirus being under 1% of the American population.
In March, President Trump was criticized for saying on the Sean Hannity Fox News show that he had a hunch the coronavirus fatality rate was rigged by the World Health Organization.
“Well I think the 3.4 percent is really a false number. Now, this is just my hunch, and – but based on a lot of conversations with a lot of people that do this. Because a lot of people will have this and it’s very mild. They’ll get better very rapidly. They don’t even see a doctor. They don’t even call a doctor. I think that that number (the WHO number) is very high. I think the number, personally, I would say the number is way under 1 percent.” President Trump says.
Coming in at 3-4% for fatality rate, the numbers do actually show this to be much less than 1%. As many commentators and spectators know, it’s not the easiest to go off a President’s hunch during a pandemic crisis but Trump may have had the right feeling about this the whole time. For this, we should trust our President.
The New York State antibody tests suggest that as many as 2.7 million people statewide have had the virus, with just over 15,000 deaths leading to the fatality rate of 0.5% according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Of course, this gave the Left media all of the resources they needed to blast President Trump for spreading “misinformation.” Even though that “misinformation” is seemingly to be backed up by data more and more each day. Another study in Los Angeles shows that 40 times more people had carried the virus than previously known. This dropped the fatality rate from 4.5% to .1-.3%.
Mind you, more people should be upset over this than those who don’t want to “social distance.” Because of the rather absurd numbers put on display by WHO, the 5 week lockdown in the U.S has destroyed the American economy. While the U.S has lost 50,000 lives to this virus, understanding just how deadly it is should make us question the destructive course the Left is taking. They want more lockdowns and more policies in place. A socialist’s dream.
Back to what President Trump was saying in March, he makes sense. We had conducted very few tests and were flying blind to what percent of COVID-19 cases were becoming critical or actually leading to death. How we battle the virus might need to be off of the President’s hunch after all.
The results coming in day by day are following more in what Trump is saying. It would be nice for the media to give him a little respect in response to this virus but that’s unlikely. At .5 percent fatality rate, the coronavirus is not the killer we once feared.
