On July 18, we reported that Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, had said on Truth Social that he had received a “targeted” letter relating to Jack Smith’s criminal probe on January 6, 2017.
Quick recap: Merrick Garland assigned Smith, the Attorney-General, to oversee two investigations into Trump. The first investigation was about his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 elections including the lead-up to the Capitol Riot of Jan. 6. The second looked at the classified material that the former president kept in his Mar-a-Lago residence.
Here’s a condensed form of Trump’s lengthy response to the original letter. I have included the letter without comment.
WOW! On Sunday night, while I was with my family, having just arrived from the Turning Point event in Florida, where I won the Straw Poll against all other Republican candidates with 85.7%, with all polls showing me leading in the Republican primary by very substantial numbers, almost everyone predicting that I will be the Republican nominee for President, and as I am leading Democrat Joe Biden in the polls by a lot, HORRIFYING NEWS for our Country was given to me by my attorneys.
On Sunday night, the prosecutor of Joe Biden’s DOJ wrote me and informed me that I had been the target of a Grand Jury investigation since January 6. The letter gave me just four days to report my findings to the Grand Jury. This usually results in an indictment and arrest.
It’s the first time this has happened in our country. The “Dossier” was funded by Hillary Clinton’s Campaign and the DNC. No Collusion! The Russia, Russia, and Russia Hoax failed. There are many scams: the 51 “Intelligence Agents”, the FBI/Twitter Files, and the DOJ/Facebook censorship.
This is an extremely dark and sad time for our country!
After receiving the target’s letter, Trump was interviewed and asked if he was concerned about the potential consequences of being found guilty and sentenced to prison.
Host:
Is it something that concerns you of, you know, of the people making sure that they don’t go out of their right mind if something like that happens, because I know what I’m thinking of could happen if that, for example, they do say — Jack Smith says, ‘Okay, I’m going to put Donald Trump in jail?
I think it’s a very dangerous thing to talk about, because we do have a tremendously passionate group of voters, and I mean, maybe, you know, maybe 100, 150 — I’ve never seen anything like it. Much more passion than they had in 2020 and much more passion than they had in 2016. I think, uh, it would be very dangerous.
I’ll leave the interpretation to the reader.
On MSNBC, Trump detractors gloated over the latest developments. Alicia Menendez, a representative of the outlet, replaced Nicolle Wallace on Deadline White House, who was suffering Stage 4 Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Menendez started the Trump-smearing segment by “parroting Wallace’s pet description” of Trump as:
A former president has been disgraced for sexual assault and was convicted.
The complete ignorance of Trump critics and their inability to see through the bias of the bilge they spew is always astounding. It is obvious that this speaks more to the detractors than it does about their targets.
Menendez has sunk even deeper into the sewer.
As we enter the studio, we see a split-screen. On the one hand, we have the disgraced former president, who was twice impeached and twice indicted, as well as being legally responsible for sexual assault. He is ranting on Truth Social while complaining that he may be charged with additional crimes at his town hall with Sean Hannity.
Jack Smith, a special prosecutor, is seen at a federal courthouse in Washington, D.C., where a federal grand jury was meeting. It’s about attempts to reverse the 2020 election. Jack Smith has been seen today in a federal district courthouse near Washington, D.C., where a federal jury was sitting.
William Russell will testify to the grand jury Wednesday. He is an ex-White House staffer who works for Trump’s campaign for president in 2024.
We will soon discover that Trump did not just “whine about the situation”
Menendez continues ad nauseam. Here’s some more of Menendez’s melodramatic screech fest.
We are learning new information about Jack Smith’s plans as Donald Trump squirms and sweats, anticipating his next move. NBC News confirmed that the letter Jack Smith wrote to Donald Trump informing him that he is the subject of a federal investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 elections outlines three federal statutes relating to the deprivation of rights, conspiracy against the U.S., and tampering with witnesses.
False electors are also included in federal laws. False statements can be punished by up to five years of jail.
There are signs that prosecutors may be exploring charges of mail fraud or wire fraud in relation to Mr. Trump’s fundraiser efforts, with the goal of overturning electoral results. A conviction for wire fraud could result in up to 20 years of imprisonment.
You can watch it all if you like. Let’s cut to Menendez’s phony dramatic ending.
It’s too early to tell how everything will end up. The plot thickens by the hour. We don’t know when or if Trump is going to be indicted again, nor what charges will be brought against him.
It’s unfortunate, but funny to see the glee of TDS-ridden haters as they spew their bile.
It doesn’t matter how you ask Trump about the reaction of his “passionate” supporters. The question still remains valid.
I will leave it as it is.
