SPLC Lawyer Accused of Domestic Terrorism in Atlanta Cop City Assault

I previously wrote about another attack on police officers and the construction site for a future Atlanta police training center.

Many people came from out of town for a rally supporting the people protesting the construction of the center, which they have called “Cop City.”

According to police, the protest was used as a cover for violent actions, as we have seen in similar incidents. According to police, some protesters became all black, (a move that makes it difficult to determine who is doing what during an “action”) and began throwing large rocks, fireworks, and Molotov cocktails at police and the site.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, it wasn’t about protesting but rather “anarchy.”

According to Atlanta Police, 23 people were taken into custody and charged with domestic terroristic acts. Only two of the 23 people arrested were Georgians. All others were foreigners. Two of them were from outside the country, one from France and the other from Canada. They came from all over the country, from Arizona to Massachusetts. One of them appears to have been a former Occupy Wall Street organizer, whose name I recognized.

Thomas Jurgens is the one getting the most attention, he reportedly works as a staff attorney at the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center.

SPLC loves to expound on the names of extremists. Maybe they should have checked among their ranks. They seem to be quite silent on this for a group that loves to talk about extremism. They have yet to comment. It is not clear why the FBI relies on these men to decide what constitutes “extreme”.
