NYC Bishop Robbed of $1M+ in Jewelry During Live Streamed Church Service

Police confirmed that the $1 million in jewelry worth of a New York City Bishop was taken at gunpoint by a gunman during a live-streamed service.

According to images online and to police reports, Bishop Lamor Miller Whitehead was robbed by his wife at gunpoint. He is the founder of Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries, Brooklyn.

Whitehead was performing his worship at the Canarsie House when three unidentified, masked men entered the sanctuary to display their guns. According to a spokesperson from the New York Police Department (NYPD), they arrived at 11:14 AM.

According to the NYPD, the suspects stole $1 million worth of jewelry from Whitehead (44), and his 38-year-old wife. Police stated that they fled the building by foot and then hopped into a Mercedes-Benz to travel eastbound on Avenue D.

We shared a live-streamed video of the attack. Later, it was removed from ministry platforms.

The video shows the bishop saying “Alright. Alright. Alright. Alright.” Alright.”

The stolen items were worth over $1 million and included a Rolex Watch.

Whitehead announced Monday morning that he would pay a $50,000 reward for the arrest of the armed people.

The bishop recalled the events in a video posted on Facebook, in which he described how one of the suspects “put the gun to my back” and “had the gun in my 8-month-old’s face.”

He stated, “They took my watch, my jewelry, and my bishop’s rings. They also took my wedding bands and my bishop’s cross. They also noticed that I was wearing chains underneath my shirt and took those. ”

Whitehead went on to describe how he knew the suspects “were sent,” and the gunman who robbed him “ripped my collar off just to get to my jewelry.”

“They pointed me out”. I heard them say, “That’s Him. ”

He assured his family that everything is well and thanked everyone for their concern.

Whitehead noted his belief that the robbery could have been spurred in part by “bad press” in the aftermath of his decision to help Andrew Abdullah, 25. Abdullah was arrested in connection with the death of Daniel Enriquez, a 48-year-old Goldman Sachs employee.

Abdullah, who was a suspect in Enriquez’s unprovoked shooting inside a Q train moving on May 22, was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession. He pleaded not guilty.

The bishop also slammed those who thought he was “flashy.” He spoke about critics who were “going to be glad because they feel that it’s flashy – ‘They show this. They show that,’” he said in the video. “And that’s alright. But I thank God for blessing me.”

A lot of the posts by the bishop on social media show high-end or expensive clothing.

He stated that being a well-known Bishop can sometimes be a blessing or a curse. Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries have been under fire for some time.

He said he received information from “so many police chiefs” and inspectors following the attack, and thanked Eric Adams for “reaching out to me and making sure that I’m okay.”

“I asked those young men who have done it, that you turn yourselves in”. “We are aware of your appearance… We also know that some of you have changed clothes. ”

He stated, “The gig is up. ”

This does not sound like any Bishop or man of God to me. I wonder if he realizes that he can’t take all of his expensive jewelry into the gates of Heaven? None of that crap really even matters and a true man of God does not need all of that flashy jewelry. He should be investing the money he spent on all of that meaningless crap into doing God’s work. I get that he is upset about being robbed, but focus on doing God’s work and helping people when you are in the position of a Bishop and things like that won’t happen.
