Are you thinking about making a New Year’s resolution to cut down on sweets and go to the gym. If you’re, then you may be a white supremacist.
Ok, maybe not. Not really. According to Natalia Mehlman Petrzela (author of Fit Nation: the Gains and Pains Of America’s Exercise Obsession), American exercise trends reinforce white supremacy.
In an interview with Time Magazine, Petrzela discusses this absurdity. She said that her initial belief in fitness was progressive, and she was surprised to learn the surprising truth.
“It was fascinating to read the thoughts of fitness enthusiasts from the early 20th century. Corsets were an attack on women’s bodies and they suggested that we should eliminate them. Women should also be lifting weights and building strength. You feel that this is progressive at first,” she said. Then, you continue reading and find that they are saying white women need to build up their strength as we need more white children. They are writing in a time of incredible immigration, shortly after the emancipation of enslaved persons. This is a part of white supremacy. This was a real “holy crap” moment for historians, as deep archival research really uncovers the contradictions of this moment.
It’s true. This is the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard from the Everything is Racist(tm), conglomerate run by the radical left.
This is why Lizzo encourages her obesity with no shame. Although I thought Lizzo was celebrating her morbid obesity to justify not living a healthier lifestyle, I suspect the real reason is white supremacy.
Is it racist to think that people will stop exercising, whether they are African Americans or white liberals? America already has enough problems with obesity. Are we really going to need “white supremacy” to excuse people from exercising?
