Massachusetts Prison Chaos: Inmates Stab Correctional Officers in Violent Attack

A spokesperson confirmed that two correctional officers had been stabbed in a Massachusetts maximum-security prison by an inmate. Three others were also injured in the response.

Scott Croteau said that five officers from the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center, located in Lancaster, were transported to hospitals following the incident on Wednesday night.

He said that “the facility is secured at this time, while an investigation is being conducted to determine the circumstances and facts.”

In the statement, it was stated that two of the officers were stabbed and three others were injured while responding. The statement did not provide details on the injuries.

The Massachusetts Correction Officers Federated Union announced online that a police officer had been stabbed both in the head and back. The union called on the department to take more action.
