DeSantis Slams Federal Investigators for Stonewalling Florida’s Assassination Attempt Probe

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said on Thursday that federal investigators refused to work with state officials who were conducting their investigation of the second attempted assassination on former President Donald Trump which took place Sunday at the Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach.

DeSantis told Fox News’s Laura Ingraham that the federal government has repeatedly rebuffed the state officials. This was after signing the executive order authorizing the Florida Attorney General to launch a criminal probe into the incident earlier this week.

They are not cooperating and I am concerned.

Ingraham was told by the governor that he believes Biden-Harris is against Florida’s investigation.

There were multiple Florida law violations across multiple jurisdictions. This guy, we believe, violated Florida law in at least three different judicial circuits. We have to investigate. We are obligated to file the proper charges and to inform the public of what happened.

As soon as I heard about this Sunday, I immediately told my colleagues in the state law enforcement to save his social media, because, as you know, Facebook and tech companies will want to remove it. We need to find out how he ended up in Florida. So, we’re going to store his digital trail. What path has this guy taken to get to the bushes where he is trying to assassinate the former President of the United States, the current Republican nominee, and the current Republican candidate? How did it happen?

The first assassination of Trump, in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, remains a mystery. Why?

DeSantis said that the Butler shooting was a major reason for his initial concerns about the lack of cooperation of federal investigators.

And we have not gotten answers about Butler. We have not gotten answers about things like that Las Vegas shooting from many years ago. So part of the investigation that our folks are doing is they are going to provide evidence they find of motive, evidence of his associations, and evidence of his beliefs. I think it is very important for the public to get the real story of that.

This is important for many reasons. It’s part of more than three and a half years of the worst U.S. administration in history.

Ironically, or perhaps in a bit of poetic justice for the Biden-Harris administration, the refusal of federal investigators to cooperate with the Florida investigation into the “incident” at Trump’s golf club can only lead to further distrust among the public, which is in part why DeSantis ordered the state investigation.
