The left is outraged at CNN for broadcasting a town-hall event featuring former President Donald Trump.
The town hall meeting will take place at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire and will be moderated by Kaitlan Collins.
A jury found Trump liable for defaming E. Jean Carroll and sexually abusing her on Tuesday. She was ordered to pay $5 million in compensatory damages and punitive damage in the civil case.
Critics took to Twitter to shame CNN for giving Trump an audience after the election results.
Jeff Tiedrich, an activist, said that CNN doesn’t care about preserving democracy.
“CNN followed the same trajectory as so many before, Trump berated and belittled them until they became his b****. It’s his classic move, he senses weakness and greed and exploits it,” replied comedian Noel Casler.
CNN is moving towards the right. One popular tweet read: “Boycott CNN to give comfort to the right-wing and white supremacists by having a Townhall with Donald Trump.”
“It seems like @CNN has made a deal to the devil in order to host the town hall with @realDonaldTrump. They forgot that anything Trump touches will die. The venue will be a stage for lies, as it is stocked with Trump supporters. Alexander Vindman responded that CNN’s brand would be irreparably damaged.
Charlotte Clymer, a transgender activist, said: “If you are not a reporter, there is no reason for you to watch Trump’s Town Hall tonight on CNN.” “There won’t be anything new to learn. This will be a circus. Do not fall for it. Do not watch. “Don’t give them ratings.”
The former president disapproved of the verdict on his Truth Social account and stated that his lawyers would appeal the ruling.
Trump is currently the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
