21-Year-Old MMA Star Shalie Lipp Suddenly Dies

Shalie Lipp died in a Minnesota car accident on Sunday. She was considered by some to be the next UFC female star fighter, and she was only 21-years-old.

According to Valley News Live, Lipp was in a Chevy Malibu with two other passengers when the vehicle hit a Jeep Cherokee at the Red River Bridge of I-94 near Moorhead.

The only one of the five individuals involved in the accident who did not wear a safety belt was the fighter. She was the only person to die in this crash. The Malibu and Jeep were both traveling eastbound when they collided.

Lipp had been scheduled to fight in No Mercy XI on May 20, at Kent Freeman Arena, Holiday Inn Detroit Lakes Minnesota.

No one in the Cherokee was injured.

On Sunday, the interstate was temporarily shut down as officials cleared out the scene. The accident is still being investigated.

According to the New York Post, Lipp recently returned from Thailand after a training session lasting a full month.

“She was a hard worker. She had just returned from a training camp in Thailand after a month. “At 19, she began fighting top Midwest fighters. Everyone knew she was going to be somewhere, and that was the UFC.

Lipp’s amateur MMA career was 3-2.
