Two men were recently shot dead in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone. The Seattle Police Department then confirmed that there was a shooting inside CHAZ early Saturday morning.
Ironically enough, people in the CHAZ called the Seattle police to report 3-5 gunshots around 2:30 a.m. People were seen fleeing from the murder scene in the Captiol Hill Organized Protest. Seattle Police attempted to locate a shooting victim dressed in protective anti-protest gear but the CHOP residents tried to prevent the cops from advancing. The cops were met by a violent crowd and were too late. The victims had already been taken to the hospital.
The Seattle Police were informed that one of the victims, a 19-year-old male, had died from injuries while the other, also a male, remains in the hospital from life-threatening injuries. The suspect(s) fled and are still at large. Homicide detectives responded and are conducting a thorough investigation, despite the challenges that were presented by their circumstances.
The Seattle Police have announced that the suspects are at-large and no arrests have been made. The officers had to investigate within the “no-cop” zone to collect shell casings and evidence from the murder scene despite harassment from CHAZ inhabitants.
The Seattle Police department has been driven out by groups such as Black Lives Matter following the days after the death of George Floyd. On June 8th, activists forced Seattle Police to abandon their East Precinct building.The Mayor said the lawless autonomous zone could blossom into a “summer of love” while other Democrats have added that CHAZ is more like a “block party atmosphere.” Yeah, sounds more like a game of Call of Duty to me…
Many other left-leaning officials have claimed CHOP to be a peaceful expression of the community’s collective grief and desire to build a better world. That this is a demand for us to do better as a society and provide true equality for communities of color. It is not terrorism – it is “patriotism.” Wait…huh?
The Seattle’s police chief revealed that rapes and robberies are happening in the CHOP, though police can’t respond to them. “Our calls for service have more than tripled. These are responses to emergency calls – rapes, robberies, and all sorts of violent acts that have been occurring in the area that we’re not able to get to,” said Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best.
Street preachers have been physically assaulted, a black man was tormented for carrying an American flag, and there was an actual dumpster of fire. Doesn’t sound like the summer of love to me. Interesting how if a right-wing militia had ransacked a police station and taken over an area of a major city the media would be hyperventilating…but if it is left-wing extremists, everyone pretends it’s normal. Talk about the summer of love.
