A new training tool has made its way into Goodyear’s “zero-tolerance” policies in the workplace force. It was a part of a presentation during diversity training that some people are calling not equal for all. It showed what’s acceptable and what’s not acceptable to support while you are at work.
The photo circulating shows a slide of what attire and affiliated slogans are okay to support at work. The list of acceptable support included Black Lives Matter and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender pride (LGBT). The list of unacceptable support included Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, Make America Great Again (MAGA) Attire, and political affiliated slogans and material.
The photo from the slide came from a corporate office out of Akron, Ohio. The training tool has worked across parts of Ohio to Topeka, Kansas, where some residents are furiously working to defund the police. Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has had serious issues with supporting the police in the last few months, including President Trump. This is the wild force of the radical left at work.
“If someone wants to wear a BLM shirt in here, then cool. I’m not going to get offended about it. But at the same time, if someone’s not going to be able to wear something that is politically based, even in the farthest stretch of the imagination, that’s discriminatory,” said the employee under the agreement of anonymity due to fears they could lose their job. “If we’re talking about equality, then it needs to be equality. If not, it’s discrimination,” a Goodyear employee said.
It’s a bit ironic that Goodyear refuses to allow their employees the rights to wear political affiliated slogans and material, when BLM is just that. A political movement.
For a company committed to an inclusive and respectful workplace, they’ve got it all wrong. Goodyear is clearly in favor of specific political campaigning and are dragging their employees along for the ride under the scope of hatred they have for our President and our men and women in blue.
Goodyear issued a follow-up statement to the “misconceptions” at hand, calling their policies and the company a “victim” to the training graphic that was surfacing the internet. They explained that Goodyear has always wholeheartedly supported both equality and law enforcement and will continue to do so.
As always, the company has been caught banning all political attire and didn’t want to own up to their own liberal mess. This was right after President Trump tweeted calling for a boycott of the company and their stocks took a hit. Coincidental timing?
If companies don’t want to lose money they need to stay out of this left vs. right debate. Many took to Twitter, posting pictures of their slashed tires and moving on from the politically-fueled company that clearly won’t support our police departments. All of that for politically virtue signaling and poisonous ideology seeping into the workplace.
It’s time people stop blaming President Trump for their actions when they inserted themselves into the conversation in the first place.
