According to multiple sources, a grand jury in Manhattan indicted ex-President Donald Trump on Thursday afternoon.
According to the New York Times, the exact charges are still unknown. However, the investigation focused on Trump’s hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, an adult film star who claimed to be having an extramarital affair with Trump.
Trump is now the first ex-president to be indicted for criminal offenses.
Former President Trump’s supporters have warned the left that an indictment against him would make him more popular and ensure his nomination for the Republican presidential ballot in 2024.
In anticipation of the indictment, security was increased at Manhattan’s courthouse last week.
