A New Hampshire fire chief reported Monday that rescuers rescued a child trapped between two boulders for over nine hours.
WMUR-TV reports that the child, who is estimated to be between 11 and 12 years old, was pried from the boulders at Windsor around 3:15 a.m., and then taken to a local hospital for an evaluation. Windsor is located about 30 miles from Concord, the capital of New Hampshire.
The boulders are located near the Wediko School. This is a residential treatment facility for middle and high school boys.
Kenny Stafford, chief of the Hillsborough Fire Department, told the station that firefighters were called to respond just before 6 pm on Sunday. The firefighters used ropes to pull the child out and also lubricant.
The school and the fire department were contacted for comment.
