Controversy Ensues as ActBlue Maintains Support for Black Lives Matter Amid Allegations of Hamas Support

The war between Israel & Hamas continues to expose the true nature of many prominent American politicians. It is particularly true for Black Lives Matter. The group has lost considerable popularity since it was revealed the global foundation used white guilt to fund lucrative ventures by the group’s leaders.

Another branch of Black Lives Matter has shown that they are not as against bigotry or hate groups as the brand would have us believe. ActBlue, the popular fundraising platform used by Democratic politicians and other far-leftist causes to raise money, has also shown that its values are not always applied.

ActBlue, the Democratic software platform, has not said whether it will allow Black Lives Matter Grassroots to continue to fundraise using its services after the group showed sympathy for Hamas following its deadly attack on Israel.

BLM Grassroots is currently raising money through ActBlue Charities. A donation link shows that the organization has 26 chapters in the United States. It also called the deadly Hamas attacks in mid-October a ‘desperate self-defense. BLM Grassroots published a statement in October claiming that “we must remain unwaveringly on the side” of oppressed Palestinians. The statement equated the “resistance” in Palestine to the efforts made by black people “to end militarism” and “mass incarceration.”

ActBlue, the leading giving website for Democrats and Liberals, is a constant embarrassment, according to Peter Flaherty, CEO of the National Legal and Policy Center. A conservative watchdog organization spoke with the Washington Examiner. The polling indicates that BLM’s favorability has been steadily declining. It will continue to fall after this incident.

Black Lives Matter is not just about supporting Palestinian civilians. It also has no problem with the Israeli government. BLM Grassroots went so far as to defend Hamas following its October 7 attack on Israel that killed over 1,000 Israeli civilians, including children. The group said in a blog post after the fighting began that the Palestinians had been “subjected to decades of Apartheid and unbearable violence” so their resistance should not be condemned but rather understood as an act of desperate self-defense.

ActBlue’s policies also state that they do not work with any groups who are against social equality, women’s rights, LGBTQIA2S+, racial injustice, diversity, freedom of speech, disability rights, and respect for scientific inquiry and discovery.

Hamas, a terrorist group that hates Jews, is not a fanatic of social justice, women’s rights, freedom of expression, or racial equality. The members of this group are more like Nazis than the black Americans BLM Grassroots says it supports.

If this is true, then why would ActBlue do business with an organization that supports a terrorist group of this kind? It would seem that this particular circle would be difficult to square.

ActBlue is still determined to stand with BLM Grassroots despite the fact that it has a relationship with a terrorist organization that does not match its stated values. The problem is that I think this is the crux of it.

Progressives have proven time and again that they don’t believe what they are trying to force down other people’s throats. They say they are for tolerance, acceptance, and racial equality. When it comes down to it they tend to choose which principles to apply. If you want to find out if someone truly believes in the principles that they publically espouse, look at how they act when it is not convenient. ActBlue failed this particular test.
