Blood On Her Hands

Crime and shootings, the last few weeks, have skyrocketed and become relatively common as police forces have turned their backs on communities looking to dismantle them completely. Atlanta Police, for example, turned their backs on their own community looking to defund them and an 8-year-old got shot. Her name was Secoriea Turner and she was with a group of people who got shot up in the car she was riding in right as they passed the same Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was killed.

Her life did not matter to the mobs in the streets or the shootings that followed the retreat of police in the city. Her mother attempted to enter a parking lot blocked off by “protesters” when at least two men fired into the vehicle, striking and killing the little girl. She was immediately taken to Atlanta Medical Center in a private vehicle, but she did not survive her injuries. This was just one of six shootings in the city that night. No news outlet ever identified the affiliation of the protesters, meaning that it probably suggests that the answer was not useful to any media outlet’s narratives.

This had Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms saying “enough is enough.” She gave a press conference on the atrocity committed and pointed out that all of these riots and crimes were supposed to be in reaction to the way the police have treated the black community, but in truth, it’s not the police shooting up the communities, it’s members of the community.

“Secoriea Turner was shot and killed last night, and it was not by the hands of police officers. It was by the hands of a coward, cowards, who are still out and about in our community. This happened near the Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was killed a few weeks ago,” the Mayor said.

The Mayor continues to talk about what we demand from officers in the communities and that the worst possible outcome from these actions have been members of the community shooting each other. “We have talked about this movement that’s happening across America in this moment in time where we have the ears and the interest of people across this country and across this glove who were saying they want to see change,” she said.

People are losing in a movement when they begin to lose each other. You can’t blame this on a police officer or some criminal justice reform. This situation was about some people carrying weapons who shot up a car with an eight-year-old baby in it.

The father of the girl, Secoriya Williamson, also spoke out. “They say black lives matter. You killed your own. You killed your own this time,” he said.

Over the last several weeks, Atlanta had over 75 shootings. Of course, it is typical of a Democrat Mayor to jump to conclusions and let their cities catch on fire when police brutality occurs instead of backing up Atlanta’s police department. If she had, there wouldn’t be the killings. Now she’s got blood on her hands because of socialist politics and policies branding the police as the “greater evil.”

The changes being demanded by the liberals mean less police which means more crime, including more homicides. With this on her resume, I doubt the Mayor is up for re-election.
