Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, and other Democrat officials in New York were shouted at and heckled during a press briefing on the city’s illegal immigration crisis on Friday morning.
Demonstrators shouting “Send them Back!” and “Close the border!” drowned out the Democrats outside of Manhattan’s Roosevelt Hotel, which is now a center for asylum seekers.
Close the border! Close the border! Respect the constitution AOC I am your constituant!” A man shouting into a loudspeaker was heard in the angry crowd.
Ocasio Cortez stated, “What we want to do is make sure we have all the necessary resources and we join with the city and the state.” The man who was holding the megaphone then shouted, “Illegal Immigration is not right!” “Respect the Constitution and close the border!”
Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-NY, was one of the other Democrats present at the conference. He served up a large platter of current Democrat talking points on illegal immigration. These are the kind of talking points you find under the north end of a horse heading south.
Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D.Y. said that the delegation went to see “for themselves what the immigration dynamic is in our country” and saw “children, families, people who want to work, fleeing violence or environmental disasters, people fleeing the environment.”
“We hear so many heartbreaking stories here. “These are the people who will make New York City a better city,” he said, as people shouted in the background.
It’s important to be honest: these people don’t come to the US to escape violence or environmental disasters. They are here to find work and send money back home. Many will also bring their families in to take advantage of America’s generous social security system.
Some may also have other goals which could negatively affect our national security. It’s incredible that after all this, and all the waves of men, mostly of military age, including some from China – a country not known to have friendly relations with the United States currently – flooding over the open southern border, a backlash has taken so long to develop. Even blue-city politicians have begun to recognize that the current situation cannot continue. The Biden administration continues to use the same repartee as Ocasio-Cortez, Adriano Espaillat, and others.
Mayor Adams has started to sound alarms in other parts of New York:
In a recent interview, New York City Mayor Eric Adams made his most dire prediction for the future of the Big Apple. The city is currently dealing with an influx of over 110,000 migrants, compared to just last year.
“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers. Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City,” Adams said during a Town Hall meeting on the Upper West Side. “We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month.”
Even Democrats and Independents from the southern states have begun to speak out.
Bravo to those who came out and made their voices heard – or forced them to. Their homes are literally at risk. No city is able to absorb 10,000 migrants per month. No city can absorb 10,000 migrants a month. This is unsustainable. This cannot go on. Fortunately, Mayor Adams, despite his best efforts, has managed to stumble upon a clue about this issue. It’s funny to see how the policies of all the Democrat-run Sanctuary Cities are backfiring on them.
