Sean O’Malley got to the top of the UFC mountain last weekend when he knocked off Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight title and picked up his first-ever championship since joining the company.
Social media was abuzz this week with O’Malley’s remarks about his relationship with his wife Daya González.
O’Malley spoke about his relationship with Gonzalez on “RawTalk”, before Sterling’s fight. O’Malley said that it would be unfair if he weren’t successful. He explained this by saying it’s OK to have relationships with other women.
O’Malley told the New York Post, “I’m like a king and I pay for all my expenses.” “I treat Danya like a queen. If I can get a little —- on the side. What does that have to do with anything? I have testosterone coursing through my veins. It’s so f—ing easy.
“I probably wouldn’t if I didn’t pay for everything and if I was like an average Joe. It’s probably not fair. But I’m f—ing King Kong, baby. Andrew Tate says it best, status. “You know I have status, so I can.”
O’Malley said later that Gonzalez “is never fine with it.”
“Suga” first opened up about his open relationship with his wife in 2020. He said at the time that if his then-girlfriend and now wife wanted to do the same thing, he would have to deal with it and that it wouldn’t be easy.
They welcomed a baby in late 2020.
O’Malley now awaits his next opponent to make his first defense of the bantamweight championship.
