The White House salary list for all employees was released Tuesday by President Joe Biden’s Administration. Congress received the complete list of 474 employees.
Payrolls range from $0 to $180,000 annually, with most employees earning over $100,000. Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary, is one of the 24 employees who earn $180,000 annually. Susan Rice, domestic policy adviser, and a few other legal and policy advisors are also among them.
16 employees receive no salary, with a median annual income of $0. These include, among others, Biden’s senior immigration adviser, Ramzi Kassem, and his special policy advisor for economic policy Justin Levitt.
Each year, the White House must report the salaries of its employees to Congress.
The administration has added two additional employees to the maximum $180,000 annual salary this year, even though Jen Psaki, former White House press secretary, left.
Ron Klain, White House Chief of Staff, also receives the highest salary.
The minimum salary for non-zero employees is $48,000. Twelve employees are included in this list. This includes trip coordinators and presidential writers as well as research associates.
Biden, though not listed as an employee of the White House, earns $400,000 annually, which is the average salary for a sitting president. Biden also receives a $50,000 “expense allowance” and $100,000 in travel expenses.
