Trump and RFK Jr. Alliance on the Horizon?

Expect the unexpected. The presidential election of 2024 has taught us this. Joe Biden’s second term was not something many expected, but it happened. He was never expected to debate Donald Trump. Yet he did, and it was a disaster. Biden, in another unprecedented move, succumbed under pressure and blackmail to drop out of the race just days ago.

It is not the time to make predictions, as this election has been one of the most unpredictable ever.

ABC News has published a new report that suggests another possible twist for the presidential election of 2024: an alliance between Donald Trump Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Multiple sources told ABC News that Trump and Kennedy had several discussions in the last few days. This included a face-to-face meeting in Milwaukee at the Republican National Convention. The two presidential candidates discussed possible roles Kennedy could play in a Trump administration during these discussions.

According to two sources who are familiar with the talks, Kennedy may be offered the chance to supervise the Health and Human Services Department during a second Trump Administration.

One source claims that the meeting in person, which occurred on the Monday before the convention, did not reach a point in which Trump and Kennedy agreed to a deal whereby Kennedy would endorse Trump in exchange for an administration role. The source claimed that it was a “free-flowing” and “informal” conversation.

One source told ABC News that the two men spoke on the phone the night Trump survived an attempted assassination at a Pennsylvania rally. They agreed to meet the following week in Milwaukee.

ABC News reported that two people who knew Kennedy’s thinking said the meeting with Trump was a result of Kennedy’s desire to bring about national unity.

One source claims that Kennedy tried to contact Democratic leaders regularly for about a year to discuss how to “bring back the party to its roots,” and failed to have these conversations.

Kennedy first ran for president as a Democrat. In October, after Democrats rigged primaries in favor of Joe Biden, Kennedy switched to running as an independent.

Nicole Shanahan confirmed to ABC News, Kennedy’s running-mate, that she was aware of Kennedy’s recent conversations with Trump, and expressed her support.

“I was aware and supported American unity and health.” She said that she was willing to talk with anyone about unwinding corporate capture of government agencies.

Trump could benefit from a deal, even if none has been made. Kennedy’s national match-up polling shows him with a 9% support. Kennedy’s candidacy has attracted some Republicans, even though it is widely believed that his support comes primarily from Joe Biden. Kennedy’s decision to support Trump would be a great way to feed into the calls for unity that followed the assassination.

Still, I’m skeptical. RFK’s position on COVID vaccinations is what appeals most to conservative voters. Trump, on the other hand, considers that their rapid development and implementation is a major achievement of his presidency.

If these discussions do take place, this is a huge and potentially game-changing development.

Let’s be honest: Stranger things have happened.
