The incident was caught on video, but several other guests at the resort did not notice it.
The Mirror reported that Turkish authorities claim Ali Cilga, 65, was with his family at a five-star hotel in Manavgat when he fell down a water slide and hit his head against the concrete pool floor.
Video of the incident shows several swimmers swimming past Cilga without noticing him before a couple of tourists noticed his lifeless body.
Cilga is seen being pulled from the pool by a man who appears to be the hotel lifeguard.
Cilga was warned by the lifeguards to not go down first.
Cilga was taken to hospital on the 26th of June after the incident and died on the 3rd of July.
According to local reports, Cilga and his family were celebrating Eid al-Adha at the hotel.
The investigation into Cilga’s death continues despite the fact that authorities have ordered an autopsy.
The incident occurred the same week that a 5-year-old boy in Georgia was injured after falling 15 feet from a water slide at an amusement center.
