Since reports surfaced two weeks ago that the Department of Justice was pursuing Dr. Ethan Haim a Baylor College of Medicine resident on charges of improperly obtaining and disclosing HIPAA-compliant patient information, there has been (appears to be) a lot of scrutiny focused on Texas Children’s Hospital.
Haim, in 2023 told Christopher Rufo of the Texas Lawmakers that his hospital continued to perform “gender affirming” surgeries on children. This practice was banned by Texas Lawmakers as early as September 2023.
After the uproar about Haim’s targeted, reports came out that FBI agents had visited a hospital nurse who claimed doctors involved in the child sex exchange program at the hospital were guilty of Medicaid fraud.

Rufo reported to his X-account on Thursday afternoon that the hospital had temporarily closed its clinic for pediatric sex exchange.
BREAKING: Texas Children’s Hospital has temporarily closed its pediatric sex-change clinic, per a source on the ground. The pressure is mounting on the hospital’s transgender program, which is now under investigation by the state attorney general for alleged Medicaid fraud.

The news comes after reports that Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General’s office, is conducting an investigation into allegations of Medicaid fraud. Texas State Representative Brian Harrison, (R), has also called on the Texas House of Representatives to hold hearings in order to investigate hospital leaders and federal officials.
Rufo says that the hospital is “in a panic” now.
🚨The #Txlege House must not allow the Biden Administration to aid and abet CHILD ABUSE and MEDICAID FRAUD by prosecuting whistleblowers.
I’m asking Speaker @DadePhelan to immediately hold hearings to investigate federal officials & hospital leadership.
