Teenager Shot in Broad Daylight near Manhattan High School in NYC

Police said that a teenager from New York was shot near a Manhattan high school on the Upper West Side on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a call regarding a shooting on West 68th Street and Amsterdam Avenue just before 10:00 a.m.

A 17-year-old male was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Police say that the teenager was taken by medical personnel to New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. He was stable at the time and there are no updates on his condition at the moment.

According to the police, there were no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

According to reports, it happened near Martin Luther King High School. This is just one of the few high schools located in the area.

WPIX TV reported that mayor Eric Adams is expected to visit the region on Tuesday.
