Swalwell in Contempt? Lawmakers Threaten Him Over Hunter’s Capitol Press Conference

Hunter Biden had to give a deposition behind closed doors to the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday. He instead showed up at the Senate side and delivered a speech criticizing the Republicans on the steps of an area called the “Senate Swamp,” which was Hunter’s choice of words, seemed to fit the nonsense he said, giving the Oversight Committee the finger and blowing off the subpoena.

Hunter is now liable for contempt charges, and House Oversight indicated that the process has begun.

Joe Biden could also be questioned about his involvement in obstruction, as he knew exactly what Hunter would say. This could be a potentially impeachable offense. Joe Biden said that people who refused to comply with subpoenas would be prosecuted.

There was another aspect of these remarks that caused a lot to be discussed — why did Hunter Biden show up with Rep. Eric Swalwell?

Swalwell arranged his appearance. Swalwell has admitted to doing it.

Swalwell claimed that the former president had “directed MAGA Republicans” to use Hunter’s addiction to attack Biden, whom Trump and House Republicans refuse to acknowledge won the 2020 presidential election.

Swalwell said that there was “absolutely no evidence” that either Hunter or his father had acted in a corrupt manner. “I’m not going sit back and watch MAGA Republicans do Trump’s bidding in Congress.”

You had a congressman helping someone to ignore a congressional subpoena. Swalwell appears to be more concerned with Hunter Biden than his obligations towards Congress and the law. Swalwell could have a problem with this, as he was kicked off the House Intelligence Committee because of his relationship with a woman who is believed to be an operative from China. Funny that he is helping the Bidens who are under investigation for alleged corruption involving the Chinese.

Rep. Andy Biggs, R-AZ, says they will hold Hunter Biden for contempt but they should also pursue a contempt case against Swalwell.

We will vote him out of contempt. We’ll probably have to vote Eric Swalwell into contempt because rumor has it that Swalwell set up his facilities for him so he could hold his [press] conferences across the street.

Swalwell admitted to doing it, as I mentioned before. We’ll see what happens, but it will be interesting to see Swalwell try to wiggle his way out of this one.
