Shocking Video of Trump Assassination Attempt: Terrified Crowd Flees as Shots Ring Out

Fox News broadcast a new video on Tuesday night of the horrifying assassination try against Donald Trump during a Pennsylvania rally in July. Former fire chief Corey Comperatore tragically died and two men were injured. The former president received a blow to the ear.

The video runs for one minute and 25 seconds. A witness named Jon Malis, who was in the crowd, was able to film the entire time despite realizing that there was a gunman perched on the roof. The assassin fired eight shots, followed by two more police shots, including the one that killed him. This kill shot was fired by a Secret Service Sniper, according to reports.

As chaos ensued, you could hear the screams and frightened cries of the crowd.

All eyes were on the Secret Service in the aftermath and the colossal mistakes that led to this. Kimberly Cheatle, the director of the Secret Service, resigned on Tuesday after being mercilessly interrogated by Capitol Hill.

Malis, the cellphone cameraman explained what he had seen:

It was not secure. I was a former soldier. When we first walked in, one of the things I noticed was that none of us had been vetted. We’re all seated along the fence. We can all see the stage. We could see Trump.

The clip below begins at 1:18.

Not only was this video released on Tuesday. We previously reported that Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-IA, posted dramatic footage of law enforcement discussing what just happened on the rooftop where the assassin was located. The body of the assassin is visible in the background.

Why was the shooter allowed to fire eight shots, despite being identified by several people in the crowd and by security staff as a suspect threat? Why was Trump allowed on the stage when a threat was identified?

How can we improve our cooperation with local law enforcement agencies in the future? Several reports stated that the Secret Service and local law enforcement were unable to coordinate properly because they used different communication platforms. Why was the Trump Team denied the resources they had requested for more than two years?

Cheatle’s resignation won’t magically fix all of these problems. A president must appoint a director solely based on their skills, experience, and merit. No other factors, such as how they identify themselves, should be taken into consideration. This is yet another reason why we should keep the newly-minted candidate Kamala Harri out of office, as it’s unlikely that she will only consider these considerations.
