In my childhood, when I was four, I made my father regularly check my closet before I went to bed for boogie men or other dangerous creatures. The Biden administration has reacted in a similar, uninformed, and paranoid manner, accusing Russia, under Tsar Vladimir II, of planting boogie men in the United States elections of 2024 in the form of “disinformation.”
This is getting tiresome.
Six sources familiar with this matter have told CNN that the Biden administration plans to accuse Russia on Wednesday of an ongoing effort to influence the 2024 US Presidential Elections by targeting US voters with misinformation using Kremlin media and online platforms.
Sources said that the US is expected to take several steps on Wednesday in response to the Kremlin’s efforts, including the White House publicly denouncing the actions and the Justice Department announcing law enforcement action against the covert Russian campaigns.
The sources stated that RT, Russia’s state-owned media network, was a key focus of the US announcement. US officials view the Russian outlet in a positive light as an important part of the Kremlin’s propaganda.
Four sources stated that the Russian disinformation campaign is being spread by both American and non-American voices.
What exactly is the “disinformation” that the Russians allegedly “launder?”
Since Russia’s 2016 activities, including hacking of the Democratic National Committee as well as leaking of documents to undermine Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president, a growing number of foreign operatives have attempted to influence the US election.
US officials are on high alert after Iran allegedly adopted a similar hacking-and-leaking playbook to that used by Russia in 2016. In June, hackers with ties to the Iranian government successfully targeted Trump’s campaign. They stole internal documents from the campaign and then shared them with media organizations. CNN reported that hackers broke into the email account of Roger Stone, a long-time Trump ally, to target staff in the campaign.
Granted, hacking American political campaigns and party functions and releasing the hacked data is troublesome and we should be on the lookout for such attempts. But how does this constitute “disinformation?”
The “disinformation’ cry is the bane of current election discussions. This is especially true from the left. To most Democrats, and the traditional media (but again I repeat myself), “disinformation” means “anything that I disagree with.” It’s not clear how the release (illegally of) information from various databases of American parties and campaigns fits into this category. Has the information been altered? Add fictional information to make the release appear to be damaging to one side.
Does the Biden/Harris Administration think the American people is so stupid that they can’t recognize Russian attempts to influence their vote? I think we can all answer that.
The “election-interference” booger man is not a big deal. There are too many real issues to be dealt with and Tsar Vladimir’s Russia has enough problems. The election will be decided largely by domestic issues, such as the economy, inflation, and illegal immigration. It’s not clear why the Biden/Harris Administration is suddenly focused on Russia. But there could be a good reason.
They could be preparing to cast doubts on the 2024 elections in the event Donald Trump is elected. The drum shows that Her Imperial Majesty Hillary I Dowager-Empress Chappaqua has not stopped beating ever since Donald Trump won the 2016 election. She has never accepted the loss of Donald Trump or his first term. This is one of the greatest ironies in recent American history. Democrats, and specifically the Biden/Harris Administration, could be setting up the four-year Trump/Vance presidency by claiming that they were only put in place due to Russian interference.
This is tiresome, as I said in the beginning.
