Russia Says US Would Cross Red Line If it Gives Longer-Range Missiles To Ukraine

Russia made a new threat to the United States. Russia threatened to go above and beyond the “red line” if Washington supplies Ukraine with longer-range missiles.

According to Reuters Foreign Minister Maria Zakharova stated, “Reserves” Moscow the right to defend its territory.”

16 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) have been provided by the United States to Ukraine. More are in the works. They can travel up to 50 miles.

Ukraine appealed for help from the U.S. and other countries as it pushes its frontline eastward and retakes territory in the northern Kharkiv Region.

Kyiv argues that it requires longer-range missile capabilities such as the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), which has a range of approximately 185 mi to combat its 1,500-mile-long battlefront.

The longer-range missile system could also be of benefit to the Ukrainian military. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that his troops will not stop resisting Russia until Ukraine is freed of Russia’s control over all its territory, which includes Crimea, which Russia has occupied since 2014.

Although the White House has repeatedly said that it will continue providing Ukraine with military and humanitarian support, it is not ready for certain missile systems like the ATACMS.
