Radio Host Baffled Over What Biden Said To Him

If 2020 has shown us anything so far it is that old media is out. People trust what Barstools Sports’ Dave Portnoy has to say about government lockdowns more than any politician. People turn to Joe Rogan’s podcast before they turn on cable news. So if Biden has learned anything the last week, you do not disrespect Charlamagne Tha God.

During an interview where Biden first spun something as a joke – later followed by an apology – it’s been quite a memorable gaffe for him. The exchange he had with Charlamagne Tha God is just enough to make anyone cringe and wonder…what is this pile of mush doing running for President? Here was the conversation:

Biden: “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

Charlamagne: “It has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with the fact I want something for my community. I-”

Biden interrupts Charlamagne: “Take a look at my record man. I extended the Voting Rights Act 25 years. I have a record that is second to none. The NAACP has endorsed me every time I’ve run. Come on, take a look at my record.”

Yikes. First of all, the NAACP has never actually endorsed Biden. They don’t endorse ANY candidates. Second of all, a record that references “second to none” is concerning particularly Biden’s 1990’s crime bill. His dismissive attitude towards Charlamagne’s questions is the real problem here.

This is not the radio show to get hostile on. Charlamagne’s platform “The Breakfast Club” has become a regular stopping point for 2020 candidates during the Democratic primary. His following is intense and the listenership is massive in terms of diversity. Multiple Democratic candidates have stopped by and interviewed with him, facing challenging questions and leading to more than one tough back and forth.

Biden’s campaign was not interested in giving Charlamagne the time of day. Twice an aide tried to cut off the interview, prompting the host to express frustration that led to the gaffe and “you ain’t black” comment. Jill Biden needed the office for her own live-stream event in which Charlamagne said jokingly “You can’t do that to black media.” Joe Biden then snapped back “I do that to white media and black media because my wife has to go on at 6 o’clock.”

Of course the Liberal media has tried to put a spin on Biden’s comment saying it was a “casual joke” and that he was making a justifiable distinction between people who are “racially black” and “politically black.”

Charlamagne joined Joy Reid this week and stated “You can’t act like this is the most important election ever, but run a campaign from your basement and, you know, not make some real policy commitments to the black community. Not listening to some of the demands that the black community are making.”

Politicians used to be able to operate under illusion with their guarded left-wing publications and media platforms. Times are changing. You can have all of the corrupt media on your side and it still won’t matter to the influence of the new gatekeepers who trust and respect their audience.
