House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was recently caught on camera having her hair done in a San Francisco salon, despite the fact that the city has not allowed the establishment to offer services for months regarding coronavirus restrictions.
Pelosi visited on a Monday afternoon for a wash and blow-out. Video footage shows her walking through the salon with wet hair, and without a mask over her mouth or nose. The stylist doing her hair can be seen wearing a face mask.
Salons have been closed since March and were notified they could only reopen on Sept. 1 for outdoor hairstyling services only.
The salon owner, Erica Kious, showed a text she received from one of the stylists who rents a chair from her. The texts read, “I’ll be there at 2:45 tomorrow. Pelosi’s assistant just messaged me to do her hair.”
The owner explained that it felt like a slap to the face that Pelosi can just go in and get her stuff done while no one else can go in. She was also shocked that the House Speaker didn’t even bother to put a mask on.
Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill, presented that the Speaker always wears a mask and complies with local COVID requirements. The city told her that they were allowed to have one customer at a time in the business and that the Speaker complied with the rules as presented by the establishment.
The salon owner fired back that you’re not supposed to blow dry hair, according to the coronavirus safety precautions.
“I have been fighting for six months for a business that took me 12 years to build to reopen. I am a single mom, I have two small children, and I have no income. The fact that they did this, and she came in, it’s like a slap in the face,” Kious said.
She continues explaining how in July she had installed plexiglass partitions between sinks and seating areas and ensured that all salon chairs were six feet apart. The state still never let her open. She had prepared her space in accordance with the guidelines, but was still unable to reopen outside because her salon specializes in hair color, and using chemicals outside is prohibited.
People on Twitter reacted with fury over the incident. “Funny how Dems make harsh rules for others but they are too important to follow them-joining Philly Mayor, DeBlabbio, Lori Lightfoot, now Pelosi joins the club. Pass the high-dollar ice cream, Nancy! Oh, it’s not for the ‘little people,’” Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Pelosi’s unlawful blowout happened at all. Liberals love to make rules for everyone else. Just look at Gavin Newsom. He orders everyone to wear a mask in California, but can’t even wear one himself.
