More Migrants Crossed The Border In June Than Over A Decade, White House Continues To Shrug

The U.S Customs and Border Protection recently released its June reports for the number of migrants apprehended at the county’s southwest border. Yet again, the number of attempted illegal crossings into the United States increased. The CBP encountered 188,829 migrants attempting to enter the country in the month of June compared to 180,641 in May. This is the highest number on record going back at least a decade. So much for Vice President Kamala Harris finding the “root causes” of migration.

The report also reveals that the number of unaccompanied minors saw an 8% increase last month compared to May and that family unit encounters increased by 25%. Drug seizures were also documented for each month. 1,052 pounds of Fentanyl was seized at the southwest border in June, which is more than the last 3 Junes combined. This is a problem bigger than what Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would call a “humanitarian disaster.”

If things weren’t bad enough for the border states, the Trump-era health order “Title 42” is expected to end July 31st under the Biden Administration. The public health measures allow for the rapid expulsion of people at the border, but the administration has warned that when it ends there is likely to be a massive increase in illegal immigration.

Brian Hastings, the Rio Grande Valley region chief of the Border Patrol, said the end of the policy will increase migration, with some projecting about 1200 families a day. The order has currently turned around 70,000 illegal aliens at the border.

34% of people stopped in June had attempted to cross at least once in the previous year, as opposed to the average 14% re-encounter rate recorded between 2014-2019.

President Joe Biden said he plans to exempt these families from Title 42 expulsions, but questions remain as to how many families will try to come here and be processed in a “timely and efficient” manner.

It was recently revealed by inside sources that the Border Patrol agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, and customs officers are stretched thin in trying to protect the border. They have been dealing with processing nearly 6,000 people a week, as well as increased human trafficking and drug smuggling cases. Agents have also been dealing with hot temperatures, often soaring above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

“We are in the hottest part of the summer, and we are seeing a large number of distress calls to CBP from migrants dumped in treacherous areas by smugglers. Although CBP does everything it can to locate and rescue individuals who are lost or distressed, the bottom line is this: the terrain along the border is extreme, the summer heat is severe, and the miles of desert migrants must hike after crossing the border in many areas are unforgiving,” said CBP acting commissioner Troy Miller.

The easiest thing to do in a crisis like this is to deny entry to people who aren’t citizens but Biden and the rest of the Democratic Party want to grab all of the votes and influence they can. They have seen the number of border crossings since ending Trump-era border policies and continue to do nothing to aid border states.

The White House will go door-to-door to make sure people are vaccinated but let over 188,000 people into this country. This just shows that the White House could care less about COVID-19 and the American people they are supposed to protect.
