Garth Brooks Hit with Shocking Sexual Assault and Battery Lawsuit from Makeup Artist

In a lawsuit filed on Thursday, a former makeup artist of Garth Brooks has accused him of sexual assault and battery.

Documents in court allege that Brooks, aged 62, raped Jane Roe during a 2019 work trip. According to court documents, she was hired for the first time in 1999, when Brooks’ wife Trisha Yearwood needed makeup and hairstyling. She started working for Brooks in 2017 doing makeup and hair. This was a few years before the alleged incidents.

According to a complaint, Brooks filed a suit to try to stop the impending lawsuit of the makeup artist. Brooks’ denial of the woman’s allegations was contained in a document filed under the name “John Doe”.

“For the past two months, I’ve been harassed with lies, threats, and tragic stories about what my future might be if I didn’t write a check of many millions of dollars,” Brooks said on Thursday in a press release. It was like a loaded weapon being waved at me.

Brooks went on to say, “Hush Money, no matter how big or small, is still hush cash. This means, in my mind that I admit to a behavior I’m incapable of – ugly acts no person should ever commit against another. We filed a lawsuit against this person almost a month back to express our opposition to extortion, defamation, and character assassination. We filed anonymously to protect the families of both sides.”

“I would like to play music tonight. I want to carry on our good work in the future. These wonderful things are now in doubt. I trust the system. I don’t fear the truth. And I am not the person they have painted me as,” Brooks concluded his statement.

The lawsuit claims that Brooks and his makeup artist traveled to Los Angeles, California in 2019 to attend a Grammys tribute for R&B singer Sam Moore. Jane Roe claimed that instead of booking separate rooms for them, only one room had been booked.

The complaint stated that “Brooks suddenly appeared naked in the doorway of the bedroom after they arrived.” He stood there and flexed his muscles. Ms. Roe felt sick to her stomach when she realized that Brooks was the only person in the room with her, and there was no one else around to help. She also knew she would be far from Nashville.

The country singer then allegedly raped the woman.

The makeup artist accused Brooks as well of exposing his genitals in front of her and sharing sexual fantasies, sending her explicit texts, and physically groping her breasts.

She was in financial difficulty when she started working at Brooks.

“It did not take long for Brooks to take advantage of her financial hardship,” the lawsuit stated. “Brooks seized what he saw as an opportunity to subject a female employee to a side of Brooks that he conceals from the public. This side of Brooks believes he is entitled to sexual gratification when he wants it, and using a female employee to get it, is fair game.”

The makeup artist claims that the frequency of these sexually-charged actions has increased since the alleged rape.

“Brooks increased the frequency of his sexually charged conversations with Ms. Roe, and this included his repeated remarks about having a threesome with his wife in which he implied that Ms. Roe would be the third person, which Brooks’ wife overheard on at least one occasion, Ms. Roe believes,” according to the complaint.

“Jane Roe”, a plaintiff, is seeking monetary damages as well as a jury trial.

In a press release, attorneys for Jane Roe said that they applauded their client’s courage to pursue her lawsuit against Garth Brooks. The complaint filed today shows that sexual predators are not limited to corporate America, Hollywood, or the rock and roll and rap industries. They also exist in country music.

“We are confident that Brooks will be held accountable for his actions and his efforts to silence our client through the filing of a preemptive complaint in Mississippi was nothing other than an act of desperation and attempted intimidation. We encourage others who may have been victimized to contact us as no survivor should suffer in silence.”
