Colorado City Council Member Claps Back After Governor’s Office Dismisses Armed Gang Takeover as ‘Imaginary’

Democrat Governor of Colorado Jared Polis dismissed the outrage over a clip showing what appeared to be armed Venezuelan gangs in an apartment as “imagination”, despite substantial evidence.

Danielle Jurinsky, a member of the Aurora City Council, responded to Governor Denial by saying: “I’m so disappointed.”

Shelby Wieman, Polis spokeswoman, told the New York Post that “the Governor has already informed the Mayor that the State stands ready to assist the local police department if necessary with the help of state troopers or the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.”

Wieman added, “According to police intelligence, this purported invasion was largely the product of Danielle Jurinsky’s imagination.”

The video below shows armed men inside an Aurora, Colorado apartment, which some claim has been seized by members of Tren de Aragua – a notorious Venezuelan crime gang.

Danielle Jurinsky, a City Council member, has been at the forefront of this problem. She evacuated several residents on Wednesday from an apartment building occupied by armed gangs.

In an exclusive interview with Polis, Jurinsky retorted, “My question to the Governor is, is this a figment also of the Romeros’ imagination?” “And the other resident I helped get out, and the others that I will continue to get away from there?”

Shelby Wieman, spokeswoman for the Governor, responded by saying: “[Governor Polis] hopes city council members who are in charge of keeping their city safe stop trashing it.”

Wieman said, “We are confident that the data for 2024 will show further decreases in violent crime. The recent misinformation campaign could harm the climate of small businesses and threaten actual criminal investigations.”

New York Post reports that more than 40,000 immigrants have settled in the Denver region since December 2022.

Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman said in a statement that “the situation is real, but it needs to be placed into context for the reputation of a city with over 400,000 people not to be adversely affected by what happened in isolated apartment buildings owned and operated by the same slumlord from out of state.”

Danielle Jurinsky said, “There are people who are behind this and they are only playing politics.” “That’s so sad because they are real people, just like Romeros who live behind four deadbolts and a doorbrace, and live in fear each day in these complexes.”

Jurinsky said, “It’s very encouraging that people across the board are seeing what’s happening.” “Video footage can only be disputed by our governor of Colorado.” “Everyone else in the United States can see this video footage.”
