Beto O’Rourke: Kamala Harris Could Make Texas a Battleground State

Beto O’Rourke, former representative of Texas (D-TX), said on MSNBC “Inside” Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris may win Texas in November.

Jen Psaki, the host, said: “I’d like to ask you if you have seen many presidential candidates running. Vice President Harris, Tim Walz, and others are creating quite a stir. Do you believe this is enough for Texas? Is Texas just a pipedream or should people wait for Texas to be built in 2024? Or will it take longer?”

O’Rourke stated, “The thing that you see now is Democrats smiling. Our party is a happy place. The party is energized. Indeed, places I thought were ruled out are now in contention. Michelle Vallejo, who is running in Texas 15, is one of the three most competitive races for the US Congress. If we win these, then maybe we can take control of the House of Representatives. Texas is the biggest opportunity for Senate Democrats to pick up seats. Colin Allred against Ted Cruz. I think Harris and Walz increased our chances of winning these races. And you know, Joe Biden only lost Texas in 2020 by 5-1/2 points. It has been moving faster than any other battleground state. “I think Texas is in play for anything I consider possible this year, and with the energy these two bring to this ticket.”
