Shocking Discovery: 11-Year-Old Boy Arrested as Arizona Police Uncover Loaded Gun in Classroom

An 11-year-old boy was arrested after a loaded gun was found in an Arizona classroom.

Scottsdale Police Department reports that officers of the Scottsdale Police Department were sent to Mountainside Middle School on Thursday at noon for a gun found in class.

Police searched the school for weapons. No one was injured and all students were safe.

A loaded handgun was found on the floor of the classroom. According to police, a student reported the gun to a member of staff. When the school resource officer received the alert, he confirmed that it was indeed a handgun.

The school was put on lockdown as a precaution while the police investigated.

The campus is secured. Students are safe when they’re with their teachers. On Thursday, 12:24 pm, the Scottsdale Police Department said on X that the school administration would be assisting SPD during its investigation.

After a thorough search of the school was done to find out who may have known about the gun, officers began interviewing the students.

A statement issued by the police department on Thursday said that it was “diligently working” to investigate the circumstances surrounding the gun’s existence at Mountainside Middle School. Working closely with the school administration, we are gathering the necessary information to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
