CLAIM: The campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris implied that former President Donald Trump had called for Liz Cheney’s firing before a firing squad.
FACT CHECK: False. Trump’s comment about “guns on her face” was about Cheney inflaming foreign wars while not being willing to fight on the front lines.
The campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris took the words of former President Donald Trump out of context, implying that he called for Liz Cheney’s firing.
Her campaign shared a video on X/Twitter of Trump talking to Tucker Carlson, along with a paraphrase of his words.
We’ll put Liz Cheney in front of a rifle with nine barrels firing at her. See how she reacts when the guns are pointed at her face

Trump did not suggest that she be executed. Instead, he spoke about the neoconservatives’ willingness to send American youths to war overseas — a practice Trump has opposed for years, especially about the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars, which were championed both by Cheney and her father Dick Cheney, former vice president.
Trump also stated: “They are all war hawks when they sit in Washington in an elegant building and say Oh gee! Let’s send 10,000 soldiers into the mouths of the enemy.”
Karoline Leavitt is the Trump Campaign’s National Press Secretary. She has blasted Harris-Walz.
President Trump is correct in his assertion that warmongers like Liz Cheney would rather send Americans into battle than fight themselves. This is a continuation of the fake media outrage that was launched days before the elections in an attempt to influence the election on behalf of Kamala.
Cheney posted on X:
Here’s how dictators destroy free nations. They threaten to kill those who speak out against them. We cannot trust our country or our freedom to an unstable, petty man who is vindictive and cruel. #Womenwillnotbesilenced #VoteKamala

Even Trump critic, former Rep. Joe Walsh, said that Trump had not called for her to face a firing squad.
He posted at X:
Trump DID NOT demand that Liz Cheney be executed.
What’s wrong with politics today? You know my feelings about Trump and I have been campaigning every day for the past 2-3 months to get @KamalaHarris re-elected, but this clip is deceptive. Trump does NOT want Liz Cheney executed in front of a firing range. He’s not. He said it all. Trump is trying to make an ugly, stupid point about Cheney’s war stance in his typical, idiotic fashion. Aaron, who I respect and like, by posting only this 11-second clip makes it seem like he is calling for her execution. He’s not. The truth is that he’s a horrible person who’s unfit to hold office. The truth is, Trump does not want Liz Cheney executed. This 11-second clip will get a gazillion hits, but the truth only gets a few.
Trump did NOT call for Liz Cheney to be executed.
This is what’s so wrong with our politics today. Look, you know how I feel about Trump, and I’ve been out there every day for 2-3 months campaigning my ass off to help get @KamalaHarris elected, but this short clip is so… https://t.co/MIDckr5CmR

Former Vice President Cheney, as well as former Wyoming Republican Rep. Cheney, have both endorsed Harris. The younger Cheney is even on her campaign trail.
